Overview Under 40 CFR, part 503 the United States Environmental Protection Agency has published regulations for technologies to further reduce pathogens in Municipal biosolids, to reach Class A, Excellent Quality, biosolids that is safe for the environment. With the publishing of these regulations Municipalities now have new choices in the safe disposal of biosolids as opposed to the regulations addressing Class B biosolids, the: |

Therma-Flite has designed two types of dryers for your Biosolids applications. Included in each system is a hopper for storage of product, a thermal fluid heater, an air condenser, and integrated controls.
The IC Systems The IC units are designed to be 'true continuous’ as the wet biosolids are fed from in-feed to the dehydration chamber to the discharge end in a continuous flow. Automated PLC systems allow for operators to handle other tasks and run the system ‘worry free’. Our exclusive rotor designs ensure thorough agitation and breakage as well as a consistent discharge of material that is Class A qualified. The
IB systems The IB units are designed to be ‘batch’ systems as the wet biosolids are fed into the drying chamber directly. The system can then be set to dehydrate by an operator who does not need to monitor the unit. Once the drying process has begun, automated control systems ensure safety, efficiency and minimal operator attention. After the product is dry, the unit can be discharged right away or used for storage until the product is ready for use. Processing After Processing Reduced volume and weight
to lower disposal cost Less paper tracking than Class B waste Safe for the environment Unlimited land application Class A has resale value as agricultural product
Therma-Flite BioScru dryers achieve an average ratio better than 5 to 1 volume and mass reduction while exceeding the requirements for EPA Class A material production. |
